xp clock shows time from last shutdown

hi,
every time i start my computer the clock starts from the
time I last shut down. I ran a anti virus scan It should
a virus which the program automatically removed. now hard
disk seems to be clean but the clock problem persists, i
would appreciate any input.

Sounds like you need to replace the CMOS battery on the motherboard.
